Located on the corner of Fourth and Moccasin Streets in Buchanan Township. On Private Property

Virginian's Burying ground was incorrectly named as McCoy Cemetery in the 1980's. Also known to locals as Dragoo Cemetery because of burials connected to that family for over 50 years.
It was actually known as Virginian' buring ground because a number of settlers buried there were from Virginia. Many of the graves in this cemetery were moved to other cemeteries. The first known burial in this cemetery is thought to be Christianna Ewell buried in 1837. Second and third burial is thought to be that of Ewell's parents Isabella and Jacob Dragoo in 1838. Find a grave has a listing of several of the burials within this cemetery as we do not at this time - March 2009.
