Many of the Howe and associated families, along with friends in this community can be found buried in this old cemetery. Frederick Howe arrived in the area circa 1834 and fell in love with the Bertrand area. To the area in 1835 (per county history) brought his wife and 11 children. Frederick Howe Sr's mother, Johanna, is the first known person buried in this 5 acre cemetery.  Nancy Heib has done a wonderful job on Find a Grave of profiling this pioneer family and many more of the burials are listed there.
