Abandoned Cemetery - Off of 3rd street in Niles Township Michigan,
approximately 4 miles from Niles, Michigan.
Between Bertrand Rd. and Fulkerson Rd. off Third street
Cemetery founded circa 1830. Many of the old stones in this cemetery have either weathered away or been the victim of being vandalized.
Only a few stones remain.
At one point there was a small village of Betertand, no longer in
existance. The oldest resident of this little knoll was Darwin C.Higbee
who settled in the area in about 1833.
He remained in the area until his death in 1902. Burial location to be searched for .
