Averill -

I am seeking information on ancestral relatives named SAMUEL VOLTAIRE AVERILL and JEMIMA (WHITCOMB) AVERILL. Both were born around 1800 in Vermont, they were married in 1825 in New York, and they both died in 1844, supposedly in Saint Joseph, Michigan (I don’t know whether this refers to the city or county, but I have not found any records of them thus far in either place). I am most interest in locating their obituaries and places of burial, but any information about them is appreciated. Thank you.

Charles W. Beeson - was born in March 1838.  Don’t know  his father or mother or any siblings although I know Beeson
is a common name in Berrien County. Suspect he was the s/o William B. Beeson and his first wife who died shortly after Charles birth.
This wife would have been Angeline Livingston. Sean J. Campbell  Sean.Campbell@twinriversusd.org

GG Ima Kemp they had possibly 2 children together my grandfather Albert and his older sister Bessie Gladys. I believe Ima later married a Bradt and possibly is buried with him. I have found Theodore in the 1900-1920 Michigan Censuses with a Carrie Arnt as his wife in the latter 2. They had 2 children that I found in those records an Horace Hindes have some info on him and a Bell J. AKA as Mary she may have married a Bishop do not have much info on her or on Bessie Gladys.      Sharon Christensen -  tyg@longlines.com

Looking for information on Squire Howard and his wife Mary Campfield Howard and there son Orville. Squire and Mary were married in 1847 and Orville was born in 1848.  htrkl2@me.com

I would like to add Amelia Coleman-Hall to your list of Brickwall. Amelia (AKA Millnie/Millie) was daughter of a Wm E Coalman/Colman/Coleman and Elizabeth Slater born in Bertrand Township around 1854.  In 1877 she married Frank Hall in Bertrand. In 1878 she gave birth to Harry Hall who later passed away in 1899. I have her in 1880 Census but that's where the trail ends.   When Harry died in 1899 he lived with his father who was married to Melicia/Molissa Dalrymple He had married her in 1884. I cannot find any other trace of Amelia.  The fact Harry lived with his dad despite he went on to having a large family with Molissa makes me wonder if Amelia passed away.  Amelias mother Elizabeth died in 1901.  Her death certificate and her obituary indicated that only 2 out of 3 children were living.  I know her sister Alice was still alive as she was the one who filed the death certificate. I know my Great Great Grandfather William Elsworth Coleman was still alive as he lived just outside of Three Oaks but I think he was considered Niles. But Elizabeths Obituary said that her living children included a Mrs Wm Rose of Three Oaks.   I am wondering if it was an error after about 20 hours of searching for Amelia in every way possible. Michigan death records have nothing of any imaginable variation. (which go up to 1952 now) There was no William Rose of the right age frame nor any who married an Amelia/Millnie.   I just cannot find ANYTHING! She is my brick wall...   Can anyone find death records for Buchanan/Bertrand/Dayton area for an Amelia/Millnie (some variation) Coleman-Hall? likely wife of Frank at the time. I am guessing she died between 1881 and 1883.  Can someone help me?

I am interested in the families surnamed Summers (Sumers/Somers) that lived in Berrien County, MI from at least 1832 to the late 1800s. As of 1840 there were three Summers in Bertrand Twp.: Reason Summers, Nathaniel Summers, and William B. Summers. Early land and probate records indicate there were at least two others: George W. Summers and James J. Summers in Berrien County. Nathaniel and George Summers evidently died in Berrien County, but the fate of the others is unknown.

I am particularly interested in Reason Summers as he may have been the father of my gg-grandmother, Louisa J. Summers (1819-1844). She married Tobias Miller (1818-1861) in Bertrand Twp., Berrien County on 31 Oct 1840 in the home of Reason Summers.   Patrick Burke at  plburke@pacbell.net
